Month of May, 2006

We have had a very busy month of May.

Young Children Priority One Projects:

Read Aloud Project:

Each Saturday during the month of May, Kiwanians, Family Members and Key Clubbers read aloud to

children aged between 2 years – 8 years of age at the Hobbies & Books bookstore at the Grand Harbour.

The event was an overall success, and the store owner has expressed an interest in our Club continuing the

programme.  The YCPO committee has set up a series of Saturday readings during the month of June.

Volunteers are being asked to sign up once again for readings that are scheduled from 2.00 – 2.30pm for

children under 5 and 2.30pm – 3.00pm for children over 5.

National Council of Voluntary Organization (NCVO) Pre-School Library:

Saw a huge donation of funds from our club amounting to KY$3,000/US$3,658.50 to assist with the

restoration of the Pre-School Library with books that were destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in 2004.
